The Disciplinary Tribunal of the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) has suspended four pharmacists for unethical behavior and misbehavior.
The pharmacists identified as Daniel Aghanemuzor, Fidelis Ogonna Okenwa, Bukola Temitope Odunbiro and Nwakpuma Richard Nwophe, were suspended for offences ranging from making false statements to the council for the purpose of procuring the registration of new pharmaceutical premises, diversion of company funds and pharmaceutical products, holding dual employment and fraud such as falsifying Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) payment receipt to the PCN among others.
Two of the pharmacists received three-year suspensions; one received a 33-month suspension while the other received a one-year suspension.
The four pharmacists violated the ethical norm of pharmacy practice, according to Prof. Ahmed Tijjani Mora, who also serves as the head of the tribunal and the governing council of PCN.
For the duration of the suspension, the names of the four pharmacists will be removed from the list of licensed pharmacists in Nigeria.
