Forbes Names Michael Jackson Highest-Paid Deceased Celebrity In 2023

POSTED ON November 1, 2023 •   Uncategorized      BY Samuel O . Adeniyi •   VIEWS 45

Michael Jackson, the late King of Pop, has topped Forbes' list of the highest-paid deceased celebrities of 2023, with an estimated $115 million in earnings.

The list, which was released on October 31, 2023, shows a significant 70% decrease in the combined earnings of the 13 deceased celebrities, totalling $470 million over the past year.

This is a sharp decline from the record-breaking $1.6 billion earned in 2022.

Jackson's return to the No. 1 spot after a four-year gap is a noteworthy highlight, with Elvis Presley, his late father-in-law, closely following in the second spot.

Here is the complete list of the highest-earning deceased celebrities of 2023:

  1. Michael Jackson - $115 million
  2. Elvis Presley - $100 million
  3. Ray Manzarek - $45 million
  4. Dr. Seuss - $40 million
  5. Charles M. Schulz - $30 million
  6. Prince - $30 million
  7. Whitney Houston - $30 million
  8. John Lennon - $22 million
  9. Bob Marley - $16 million
  10. Bing Crosby - $14 million
  11. George Harrison - $14 million
  12. Arnold Palmer - $10 million
  13. Marilyn Monroe - $10 million

Jackson's continued success despite his passing is a testament to his enduring legacy as one of the most iconic and influential entertainers of all time.

His music continues to be enjoyed by millions of fans around the world, and his estate continues to generate significant revenue through sales of his music, merchandise, and other ventures.

It is also worth noting that the overall decrease in earnings for the highest-paid deceased celebrities in 2023 is likely due to several factors, including the global economic downturn and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

However, the fact that Michael Jackson was still able to earn an estimated $115 million posthumously is a testament to his enduring popularity and the enduring value of his work.
