To shape Nigerian graduates in the diaspora for nation-building, the Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa has expressed interest in partnering with the National Youth Service Corps.
Director-General of DTCA Rabiu Dagari stated that many Nigerian graduates living abroad were eager to return to Nigeria to contribute their fair share to the development of the country during a courtesy visit to NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja.
DTCA, the African Development Bank, and the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission had identified numerous areas of collaboration that the NYSC could tap into, so he pleaded with the NYSC management to facilitate the process, and he pledged that his office would devise ways to do so.
In response, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, Director General of the NYSC, stated that during the scheme's most recent Annual Management Conference, management had exhaustively discussed methods to maximize the potential of young Nigerian graduates for the benefit of the entire country.
He gave his visitor the assurance that the plan would work with the DTCA's proposal once it had been examined in accordance with the NYSC Act.
He said "we'll try to work in accordance with the NYSC Act."
