The Adamawa State Chief Judge, Justice Hasfat Abdulrahaman, has discharged a total of 156 inmates at the correctional centres, Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
The Adamawa State Jail Delivery Committee, which is led by the Chief Judge of the state, embarked on a two-day visits to the different correctional centres in Yola.
The committee on Thursday discharged 32, granted bail to 16 inmates and reviewed 26 cases at the Jimeta Correctional Centre, Yola.
The cases of the inmates bordered mainly on civil matters, during which some inmates were placed on non-custodial, community services, from one month to three months, respectively.
Speaking shortly after the exercise at the Jimeta Correctional Centre, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahaman counselled the beneficiaries to be of worthy character.
Earlier, the controller, Jimeta Correctional Centre, Mohammed Juta, with the Chief Judge, and her team pointed out that the exercise would also help to decongest the centre.
Speaking on behalf of the discharged inmates, Emmanuel Adamu Makshan, appreciated the Chief Judge and pledged that the pardoned inmates would be of good conduct.
