Online users have released a complete video of Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti punching a police officer in uniform.
Seun is seen in the video arguing with the policeman before pushing and slapping the officer. Additionally, it reveals Seun's wife stepping out of his car to comfort him as he was arguing with the police officer. Seun nevertheless continued to slap the officer.
After the assault's video became viral, Seun used his Instagram account to explain his motivations.
The police allegedly attempted to "kill" him and his family, according to the famed musician's son.
Usman Baba, the inspector general of police, has directed the Lagos State Command commissioner of police to detain Seun in the interim.
In addition, Baba commanded a prompt and thorough inquiry into the circumstances leading up to the assault so that Seun might be appropriately prosecuted.
