The organizers of the Paris Olympics have canceled the scheduled swimming training session for the triathlon mixed relay event on Sunday due to poor water quality in the Seine river caused by recent heavy rainfall.
The decision was made after tests showed the water quality did not meet the required standards.
The mixed relay race is still scheduled to take place on Monday, but the organizers are expecting an improvement in the water conditions in the coming hours, though not to a level that would allow the planned swim familiarization to proceed.
As a result, the organizers have decided to cancel the swim familiarization session to avoid late communication to the athletes.
