The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, expressed praise for the commendable performance of the 10th House of Representatives during its initial six months since inauguration on June 13, 2003.
Addressing the assembly on Saturday, Speaker Abbas Tajudeen commended his fellow legislators for contributing their expertise, experience, and energy towards advancing the nation's interests over the past six months.
"Our legislative outputs in the last six months are remarkable," remarked Speaker Tajudeen. "The House received and considered 962 bills, 500 motions, and 153 petitions. Of these numbers, 120 bills have passed the second reading stage and are currently undergoing further review to address concerns raised during the debates."
