The NNPC Ltd has restated its dedication to maintaining the company's progress in process improvement, regulatory compliance, and performance excellence.
In a statement released by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, NNPC's Executive Vice President, Business Services, Mr Inuwa Danladi, emphasized this commitment while discussing the recent certification of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code Compliance obtained from the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
He said the ISPS certification, obtained in April 2024 and covering all NNPC jetties nationwide, is essential for the company's business continuity as it helps prevent potential operational disruptions and financial losses. stating that showcasing NNPC's ongoing adherence to regulatory compliance,
He added that the certification also allows the company to access the Global Integrated Shipping Information System (GISIS), bolstering its reputation as a secure and reliable business destination and potentially reducing insurance premiums.
"The rigorous processes involved in obtaining the certification included upgrading security facilities at the nation's ports and jetties, establishing the ISPS Code Command Centre, and engaging NIMASA Recognized Security Officer (RSO) to manage key regulatory processes.
The development of Port Facility Security Assessment (PFSA) & Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP), along with meticulous Verification Inspection Exercise (VIE) from NIMASA, highlights NNPC's commitment to upholding the highest standards of maritime security in its operations". He noted
