The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially named Finidi George as the new head coach of the Super Eagles, succeeding José Santos Peseiro.
NFF disclosed this development in a communique on Monday.
George, a former international player, clinched the role over Emmanuel Amuneke.
Having served as an assistant to Peseiro for 20 months, George assumed interim charge during recent friendlies in Morocco.
His immediate focus will be steering the Super Eagles to victory in two crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and the Benin Republic.
With Nigeria currently trailing behind in Group C, George faces the task of securing wins in the upcoming matches in Uyo and Abidjan, aiming to elevate the team's standing in the African campaign.
