The Federal Government has announced that it will be distributing 50 laptops and 5 MTN routers monthly to participants of its 3 Million Technical Training (3MTT) program. This initiative aims to incentivize learning and reward outstanding performance.

Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, revealed this development while announcing the commencement of the learning phase for the 270,000 fellows selected for the second cohort of the program.

The laptops and routers will be awarded during the program's monthly knowledge showcase, where fellows share their learnings and applications.

This incentive is part of a broader effort to equip Nigerians with the necessary tools and resources to thrive in the digital economy.

Despite the second cohort officially starting in March, the learning phase commenced in mid-May.

Dr. Tijani expressed his gratitude to the fellows for their patience and encouraged them to embrace the numerous opportunities the 3MTT program offers.

He also assured the third and fourth cohorts of upcoming updates and opportunities for engagement.

In addition to the learning incentives, the Minister highlighted the success of the first cohort, with many fellows securing internships across the country. These fellows are now set to participate in state-level hackathons, applying their newly acquired skills to develop innovative solutions.

The 3MTT program is a cornerstone of the Renewed Hope agenda, designed to strengthen Nigeria's technical talent pool and establish the country as a global leader in the digital economy.

With 30,000 participants in the first cohort and 270,000 in the second, the program is steadily progressing towards its goal of training 3 million Nigerians.

To achieve this ambitious target, the program will be implemented in various phases, in collaboration with stakeholders from government agencies, training providers, educational institutions, development agencies, and the private sector.

The 3MTT program offers training in a wide range of technical skills, including digital marketing, project management software, cloud platforms navigation, data analysis and visualization, search engine optimization (SEO), CRM management, accounting software, graphics design, and UX/UI design.
