LAGOS, Nigeria - The Federal Government has announced the closure of the Independence Bridge (Marina bound) beginning April 1 for necessary maintenance and rehabilitation work.
The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Olukorede Kesha, shared this information in a statement on Monday in Lagos.
She indicated that the bridge will remain closed until the end of May 2025.
As mentioned by her, the closure will impact traffic headed from Ahmadu Bello Way and Adeola Odeku towards Marina, Eko Bridge, and Onikan by Zone 2.
Kesha encouraged motorists to plan their trips accordingly and consider alternative routes to avoid traffic jams during the repair period.
She expressed her apologies for any inconvenience the closure may cause and appreciated the public's understanding and cooperation as the government works to maintain the safety and integrity of the road infrastructure.
