The Office of the National Talent Export Programme (NATEP) under the federal government has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UTEL Ltd, a Nigerian subsidiary of Unique Agency Kuwait to create foreign employment opportunities for Nigerians in Kuwait, other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and Scandinavian nations.
The objective of this collaboration is to facilitate the employment of Nigerians in Kuwait, other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and Scandinavian nations.
The minister of industry, trade, and investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, on Tuesday in Abuja, oversaw the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
She emphasized that this agreement is a significant achievement in the government's continuous endeavors to create high-quality job opportunities for Nigerians.
The MoU follows a "1+2" strategy: for each Nigerian placed in a foreign job through NATEP, the partners will also facilitate an outsourced position for the Nigerian BPO sector and assist in the training of another Nigerian to strengthen the local workforce.
During the event, it was revealed that there are now 250 job opportunities for Nigerians in foreign countries.
This program is designed to help Nigeria showcase its skilled workforce in a respectful and mutually advantageous way, while also tackling illegal migration and improving the nation's image.
The minister emphasized in her concluding statement that Nigeria is wholeheartedly dedicated to enhancing the skills of its workforce, a vital component of the federal government's plan to revitalize industry and to produce highly skilled individuals for global job opportunities.
