Legendary Canadian singer Celine Dion has spoken up about her experiences with Stiff Person Syndrome and how it affected her well-being.
In a recent interview with NBC News, Celine Dion, 56, compared her symptoms to "being strangled."
Celine Dion claimed that she frequently has painful cramps, which have resulted in broken ribs on occasion.
It's as if someone is strangling you. It's as if someone is pushing your larynx or pharynx. "It was like talking like that, and you couldn't go higher or lower," she explained.
The vocalist also described the stiffness and rigidity associated with the ailment.
She said: “It feels like, if I point my feet, they will stay in (that position). Or, if I cook – because I love to cook – my fingers, my hands, will get in position … It’s cramping but it’s like in a position where you cannot unlock them.
“I have broken ribs at one point because sometimes when it's very severe, it can break.”
Recall that in 2022 Celine Dion was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder.
The singer opened up to her fans in a tearful Instagram post on Thursday, confessing that her health had forced her to postpone her European tour.
