Bandits Kill Politician, Health Worker During Ramadan Prayer

Mairuwa village in Katsina state, Nigeria, witnessed a horrific event on Saturday night.

Armed bandits attacked a mosque while worshippers were observing Ramadan prayers. 

This senseless act resulted in the death of at least two people and injuries to another.

Among the deceased was a prominent community figure, Alhaji Lado.

 Sources close to him revealed he was a successful businessman, politician, and large-scale farmer.

 While details are unclear, it's believed Alhaji Lado may have been the attackers' primary target.

He reportedly refused to comply with their demands, leading to his brutal killing.

A survivor recounted the horrifying events, stating that the attackers abducted Alhaji Lado's wife and two daughters. 

The other victim of the attack, identified only as Sani, was a healthcare worker serving at the Mairuwa Health Facility. 

This incident casts a dark shadow on Katsina, a state already grappling with a severe banditry problem.

Despite numerous attempts to control these criminal activities, violence continues to plague the region.
