Fifa Top 20 Africa Team Global Ranking

POSTED ON February 16, 2024 •   Football      BY Samuel O . Adeniyi

In the most recent FIFA Men’s World Rankings unveiled today (February 15, 2024), Morocco emerges as the top-ranking African men’s national football team.

Following closely behind are Senegal, Nigeria, Egypt, and Cote d’Ivoire.

This development follows the conclusion of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday, February 11, where Nigeria's Super Eagles faced a 2-1 defeat against the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire, in the final match.

Despite the loss, Nigeria's Super Eagles have made a significant leap in the global ranking, climbing 14 places from 42nd to 28th.

Moreover, they have ascended from the sixth position to third within Africa.

FIFA allocates points based on the outcomes of all recognized full international matches, employing a points system to determine the rankings.
