Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved the recruitment of 338 officers into the state Road Traffic Management Authority to boost road traffic and regulation across the state.
The OYRTMA Chairman, Major Adesagba Adekoya, made this known on Thursday in a statement signed by the state Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade in Ibadan, the state capital.
Adekoya,said that about 2, 450 applications were received from qualified candidates, in a recruiting and screening exercise, held at OYRTMA operational headquarters, Sanyo, Ibadan.
The chairman explained that the governors approval became necessary to revalidate the approval policy signed in 2021.
He said, “This recruitment exercise is organized with collaborative efforts of the state Civil Service Commission and Ministry of Establishment and Training. The screening exercise entails registration, accreditation, physical test, and medical test.”
He stressed further that qualified applicants at the first stage would move to other stages before the interview session that would be conducted by the Civil Service Commission and Ministry of Establishment and Training.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, who was represented by the Senior Administrative officer on recruitment, Adelowo Oladapo commended the state government for the opportunity of reducing the pressure of unemployment in the state.
