In a video he shared on Instagram, Portable explained that some individuals he knew before he became famous attacked him as he was protecting his sister.
He claims that after learning that his sister was being abused by her husband, who also happened to be one of his close friends, he took a flight from the Gambia back to Lagos.
He described how he paid the medical fees when his sister was hospitalized after being impregnated by the friend in question. He revealed that he paid for the naming ceremony as well.
The men who attacked Portable were people whom he had previously helped in a variety of roles, according to Portable, who demonstrated the bruises he sustained on his head and arms.
He claimed that they were jealous of him since he was now a famous person and had the money to purchase their family properties.
While the reasons for the attack on Portable are still unknown, he admitted on the video that he had been trying to shield his sister from her husband.
The well-known performer claims that even if he is a superstar, he will always defend his family.
He referred to the incident as depressing in a statement released by his camp and stated that he plans to file a lawsuit.
"The events of the last few days has been a bit challenging and very disheartening. As a Management, we are unable to come to terms with how young people can be so blindly motivated by their entitlement mentality that they would helplessly resort to wanton destruction of property and life threatening bodily harm.
Our Lawyers have been fully briefed and necessary legal actions are being negotiated in ensuring that this regrettable action of some self-motivated-greedy lots does not go unpunished as the law is a respecter of no one. Once again, we thank you for standing by us all these gone by years."
