The Headies awards, Nigeria's premier music awards, announced its nominees on Wednesday for the upcoming 17th edition scheduled for April.
Nigerian artist Tochukwu Ojogwu, also known as Odumodu Blvck, leads the nominations with five, followed by Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, aka Ayra Starr, and Crown Uzama, aka Shallipopi, each securing three nominations.
The late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, also received three nominations. Celebrating remarkable accomplishments in the nation's music sector, this year's 17th edition of the awards is set for April 5, honoring music from 2024, while the 18th edition will be held in December to celebrate music from 2024 and 2025, respectively.
