The Lagos State government has destroyed illegal structures on Sanusi Fafunwa Street, Victoria Island, and the mechanics along MacGregor Road, Ikoyi.
The State's Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said that the demolitions are being done to reclaim coastal road alignment for the ongoing construction of the Lagos-Calabar highway.

Also, illegal structures placed on the setback at Sanusi Fafunwa Street, Victoria Island were removed.”
The move was another one in a series of operations by the state government targeted at removing illegal structures and dislodging the occupants.
