Veteran singer Korede Bello has disclosed the reason for leaving Mavins Records where he had a contract between 2014 and 2021.
In a recent interview with Hip TV, Bello revealed that he was compelled to examine his personal progress and artistic purpose, which led him to leave the label.
Korede Bello described feeling like a commercial product, only utilised for profit, rather than an artiste discovering his genuine worth and passion.
He agreed that the chase of chart-topping songs and external recognition sometimes divert artistes' attention away from what is most important in their artistic path.
He said: “I was at a season in my life where I needed to metamorphose, to explore my inner worth, to do introspection, understand myself, understand more, and reconnect to my why.
“Because I was at a stage where I started to feel like a product that is just there [at Mavins Records] to make money.
"You lose sight of what matters when you chase after the next hit, after the next whatever it is that can get you into conversations. So a lot of artistes are addicted to that circle.”
Korede Bello had earlier opened up on his experience with Don Jazzy at Mavins record label.
His tribute was filled with genuine gratitude and admiration for the iconic music producer.
In a recent heartfelt post on his X account, Korede Bello opened up about his deep appreciation and admiration for his former record label boss, Don Jazzy.
