The Federal Government has accredited over 700 consultants to conduct environmental audits and ensure compliance with environmental regulations across Nigeria.

These consultants, as stated by the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency, will assist various companies in addressing environmental concerns.

The agency emphasised that accredited consultants must operate within NESREA guidelines through periodic workshops.

Non-compliance with environmental laws can result in the sealing of company premises by NESREA, as demonstrated by the shutting down of 13 facilities in the Federal Capital Territory in March 2024.

Furthermore, the agency will collaborate with other relevant government agencies to address the issue of e-waste in Nigeria.
