Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of States and Government, President Bola Tinubu, has been re-elected for another one-year term.
Tinubu's first term is set to end on July 9, 2024, and he was unanimously elected by fellow Heads of Government at the 65th Ordinary Session of the Authority held at the State House in Abuja on Sunday.
In his acceptance speech, President Tinubu expressed his commitment to continue serving alongside other leaders in advancing democratic values and national interests.
There were speculations about his re-election, but it was confirmed by presidency sources ahead of the official announcement.
Tinubu had previously been elected Chairman at the 63rd Ordinary Session of the regional bloc in Bissau last July.
