American rapper Sean Kingston and his mother have pleaded not guilty to scamming several businesses for over $1 million.
According to the Sun Sentinel, Kingston, actual name Kiesan Anderson, and his mother Janice Turner entered their pleas on Monday at an arraignment hearing before Broward Circuit Judge Ernest Kollra.
Kingston was first arrested in May at Fort Irwin, an Army training base in California's Mojave Desert where he was performing, on a warrant issued by the Broward Sheriff's Office.
Turner was arrested the same day after a SWAT squad searched the singer's rented mansion in Southwest Ranches.
Kingston, 34, and Turner, 61, are suspected of defrauding a jewelry business, a luxury bed firm, a used luxury and exotic automobile dealership, and a premium microLED TV company since October 2023, according to arrest warrants.
According to the publication, Kingston and his mother are scheduled to appear in court again on October 11. They are also facing similar allegations in federal court.
