The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State, Asue Ighodalo, has appealed to stakeholders to seek ways to resolving the party’s internal issues ahead of the September 21 election in the state.
He stressed that the PDP remain the only legit party that could rescue the nation.
Ighodalo, stated this in Benin at a meeting with party leaders from Akoko Edo.
Ighodalo while commeneding party leaders said, said, “I call on the leaders not to rest on their laurels as we have capable members with the right vision, focus and patriotic zeal to reposition Nigeria.
“The PDP remains the only party since 1999 that is still standing, while other parties have since collapsed, fragmented or become an amalgamation of strange, odd and unhealthy bedfellows. A contraption of complicated forced union.”
Ighodalo stressed the need for the party to close ranks and strategise to defeat the All Progressives Congress, which he said had been Nigeria’s development nemesis.
