Zelensky Says Ukraine Ready To Conduct Election Amid War

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has conveyed the nation's unwavering preparedness to conduct elections, even as the conflict with Russia continues to cast a shadow over the region. "I am ready for the elections. I mean, we are ready if it is necessary," President Zelensky declared, underlining his commitment to the democratic process. He further emphasized the importance of international observers, asserting that, "for us the main thing is not to hold elections, but for them to be recognized." This statement underscores Ukraine's resolute stance on pursuing democratic ideals despite the ongoing challenges posed by the conflict. Ukraine is currently being 8nvaded by Russian forces, with the country facing bombardments, the latest being Russian airstrikes on a market in eastern Ukraine. The strike on the market has drawn condemnation from the US and also the United Nations. Ukraine is, however, engaging in a form of offensive to push back Russian gains in the country.
