President Muhammadu Buhari's "sins" are impermissible, according to the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB.
Emma Powerful, a spokesperson for IPOB, responded to Buhari's request for Nigerians to forgive him.
Buhari announced his intention to move to the Niger Republic during the Sallah celebration and pleaded with Nigerians to forgive him.
Even if Buhari moved to the Niger Republic, according to Powerful, he wouldn't be protected from his misdeeds.
He questioned why Nigerians should be willing to pardon Buhari for allegedly supporting, among other things, the assassination of IPOB members, ethnic cleansing, and national instability.
A statement by Powerful reads partly: “The attention of the global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has been drawn to the disgraceful statement credited to Muhammadu Buhari asking and demanding that Nigerians should forgive him while at the same time indicating his interest in relocating to the Niger Republic where he came from.
"To us in IPOB, his sins are unforgivable, and we don't care if he and his generation move to Mars or Jupiter instead of the Niger Republic.
"He still won't be absolved of his crimes. By the time he is done moving, his crimes will become known.
"So this man expects Nigerians to forget about him helping to slaughter indigenous people, equipping terrorists, ethnic cleansing, destabilizing the nation, enthroning the Fulani, nepotism, national treasury robbery, public deception, and many more indelible and unforgivable atrocities as a pseudo-President?
"Which of his crimes and atrocities would he like to get pardoned? The sins he planned and carried out are unpardonable as far as IPOB is concerned."
