Popular Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has fled Nigeria after averting an alleged assassination attempt.
The actor revealed this following his absence from the late musician Mohbad's coroner's court and failure to lead a scheduled protest to the Lagos State Assembly on Monday, September 30, 2024.
Recall that Fabiyi had planned a protest for September 30, which coincided with the resumption of the coroner's investigation into Mohbad's death.
However, exposing the reasons for his absence, the actor stated that his life was in danger, having recently averted an assassination attempt two days prior.
In a now-controversial video posted on his Instagram page, Fabiyi, who is currently hiding, revealed an alleged plot to end his life over Mohbad's case.
He said: “I escaped assassination two days ago and they still planned to kill me tonight. If they had succeeded, I would have been buried tomorrow.
“They want to waste me all because I’m fighting for justice. I didn’t collect money from anybody. I am just doing my own for God. I have to run for my life. I just left Nigeria unplanned and as it is now I don’t even know my destination,” he claimed.
