Social media platform X is giving more paying users access to its AI chatbot, Grok.
This follows Elon Musk's announcement last month and comes amidst controversy surrounding the technology's potential for misinformation.
Previously available only to X's most expensive tier subscribers, Grok can now be interacted with by users on the platform's "Premium" plan, costing $8 per month.
The chatbot offers two modes: "Regular" and "Fun." However, like other large language models (LLMs), Grok displays warnings about potentially inaccurate responses.
Earlier this week, X rolled out a feature where Grok summarizes trending news stories.
While competitors like Perplexity AI offer similar functionality, Grok has been caught generating fake headlines, such as "Iran Strikes Tel Aviv with Heavy Missiles," according to Mashable.
