Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of the late Nigerian musician Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, well known as Mohbad, has turned to social media to mark the first anniversary of his death on September 12, 2023.
Wunmi poured her heart out on Instagram in a highly emotional video and photo tribute, expressing her tremendous loss and the overwhelming obstacles of living without her husband.
She talked about the past year's struggles and how much their son, Liam, misses his father.
Wunmi's words gave a clear picture of the terrible grief that has consumed her life since Mohbad's death, portraying it as an agonizing struggle.
Her homage was more than a sorrow; it was a tremendous celebration of Mohbad's life, legacy, and the unbreakable tie they shared. Wunmi ended her emotional outburst with earnest prayers for her husband's soul, asking God to forgive his flaws and welcome him into eternal peace.
She conveyed her heartfelt gratitude for Liam's unique gift and praised Mohbad for their son's blessing, which is a living monument to their love.
Her words partly read: “llerioluwa mi, Husband of my youth, my best friend!, It’s been a year today since you left me and our Liam in this cold world. It’s been so hard. I miss you so much.
"Liam misses you too. I wish you were here to see him; you would have been an incredible father. I still don’t know how I’ve survived without you. God, I wish you were here every single day, every millisecond of the day.
“Your passing brought me unbearable pain, but it has also shaped me. I’ve learnt so much, and I’m still learning. I’ll never be okay with you not being here; it messes with my head. I keep thinking it’s a nightmare I’ll wake up from, but 366 days have passed, and I haven’t."
