Asclepius Consulting, a leading medical consulting firm, has urged for early screening to identify and manage high blood pressure (HBP).
The firm's call coincides with the 2024 World Hypertension Day on Friday, May 17, 2024, under the theme, "Accurately Measure Your Blood Pressure, Control It, Live Longer".
World Hypertension Day is observed globally to raise awareness of high blood pressure, promote precise blood pressure measurement, and work towards controlling hypertension-related Non-Communicable Diseases, particularly in low to middle income countries like Nigeria.
In a statement from Dr. Seun Williams, Client Services Executive at Asclepius Consulting, it was emphasized that accurate blood pressure measurement is crucial for effectively diagnosing, preventing, and managing hypertension.
Dr. Williams also highlighted the importance of using clinically validated automated devices, following correct measurement protocols, and ensuring proper patient preparation.
