Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known by his stage name Wizkid, is a Grammy-winning Afrobeats musician from Nigeria who is set to launch a jewelry brand.
Wizkid said that the first of six items his jewelry brand will be producing this year is his freshly purchased multi-million naira diamond neckpiece.
The singer of "Essence" announced this while participating in the most recent edition of the Shopsydoo Adesope-hosted audiovisual podcast for Afrobeats.
Wizkid claimed to have created the item alone and said that it marked the launch of his jewelry business.
He said, "This [the neckpiece] is truly the first item I created on my own. The first of six pieces I'm producing this year is this one. And yes, my jewelry line has officially begun. So, there will soon be some interesting stuff."
The Starboy now joins the elite group of celebrities who had jewelry lines, including American superstars Pharell Williams and Rihanna.
