ABUJA, Nigeria - FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has revealed plans to launch various projects executed by the FCT Administration to mark President Bola Tinubu’s second anniversary in office.
The minister’s spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, shared this information in a statement on Tuesday.
The statement indicated that these projects were part of the decisions made during the 14th FCT Executive Committee meeting led by the minister.
It was mentioned that the inauguration of these projects will begin on June 10 and continue for 19 days.
Among the projects to be inaugurated are the renovated Abuja International Conference Centre, the Kugbo and Mabushi Bus Terminals, and the Apo-Wassa Road, as well as the N16 Interchange and road network linking Maitama, Katampe, and Jahi Districts via Gishiri village, as well as the Inner Northern Expressway connecting Idu (Ring Road III) to Dei Dei.
Additional projects include the CN8 road from Obafemi Awolowo Way (N5) to the Court of Appeal, the N20 Flyover which connects Woye Soyinka Way with the Murtala Mohammed Expressway (Kubwa Road), the extension of Obafemi Awolowo Way from Life Junction to Ring Road III, and access roads from Kabulsa to Takushara and Kabusa to Ketti in Giri District.
The statement also mentioned that one of the road projects in the area councils to be inaugurated is the 15-kilometre road connecting A2 Junction (Abuja-Lokoja Expressway) to Pai, located in Kwali area council.
It added that the dualised roads from Ushafa to War College and Army Checkpoint in Bwari area council will also be inaugurated.
