Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Federal Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike met at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday.
The two politicians were seen shaking hands upon meeting.
They were reportedly at the Villa for a meeting of the Nigeria Police Council, a constitutional body that oversees the organisation and administration of the Nigeria Police Force.
The meeting of Fubara and Wike comes at a time when the Rivers State PDP is in crisis, with Wike's loyalists seeking to impeach Fubara.
However, the impeachment plot was thwarted section of the State Assembly went up in flames as the bomb went off destroying some sections of the lawmaker's chamber on Sunday.
The impeachment proceedings against Fubara were initiated by 24 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, all of whom are members of the PDP.
The lawmakers accused Fubara of gross misconduct, misappropriation of funds, and abuse of power.
Fubara has denied the allegations and vowed to resist the impeachment move.
