The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, disclosed on Thursday why he has not congratulated the president-elect, Bola Tinubu.
Obi stated that he has not yet congratulated Tinubu because he plans to challenge the validity of the presidential election in court.
Speaking at an Abuja press conference, he said.
According to Obi: “I have not made calls to anybody. The two contenders are my fathers, but on this issue, I’m challenging the process.”
Obi finished well behind Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the poll on Saturday, which Tinubu ultimately won.
Atiku received 6,984,520 votes, while Obi received 6,101,533 votes, giving Tinubu of the APC an advantage of 8,794,726 votes.
