WhatsApp says it is set to introduce a new feature on its web version, aimed at enhancing user experience, particularly for business accounts.
WABetaInfo revealed this on Monday and said: ''This feature is designed to enable users, especially businesses, to add contextual notes to their contacts and conversations.
The upcoming feature will integrate a text field into the chat info screen on WhatsApp Web, allowing users to input notes about their contacts.
This functionality is expected to be included in a future update of WhatsApp Web.
Businesses will benefit from the ability to record important details about customers, such as past interactions, preferences, payment details, or other pertinent follow-up information.
By simplifying the process of storing and accessing customer information, this feature aims to save businesses time and resources, particularly during real-time customer interactions.
Moreover, it is anticipated to enhance customer engagement by enabling businesses to personalize their communication effectively.
In related news, WhatsApp recently disclosed its efforts to combat platform misuse and comply with the IT Rules 2021 in India. Between February 1st and 29th, WhatsApp suspended a total of 7,628,000 accounts in India.
Notably, over 1.4 million accounts were proactively suspended, demonstrating the platform's proactive measures in addressing potential violations. These statistics were shared by WhatsApp in its monthly report, as mandated by the IT Rules 2021."
