Famous Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has reacted to Anthony Joshua's defeat at Wembley Stadium, saying the boxer appears to be tired of boxing.
Daniel Dubois knocked Anthony Joshua out in the fifth round of their heavyweight fight on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
During his post-match news conference, Joshua blamed his defeat on several blunders made throughout the fight.
Reacting to the development, Yul, who claimed to be the boxer's staunch admirer, noted that Anthony appeared to be tired of boxing.
In a post on his Instagram page, the actor wrote, “No disrespect to Anthony Joshua, but e be like boxing don tire am sef.
“All through the build-up to the match, he never looked like he took the fight seriously. I’m still a fan of AJ but the result pains me. E pain me.”
Anthony Joshua missed out on the chance to become a three-time heavyweight world champion after he was stopped by British rival Daniel Dubois in the fifth round.
Dubois, 27, knocked down Joshua towards the end of the opening round with an overhand right to the 34-year-old's chin.
The IBF heavyweight champion then dropped Joshua at the end of round three and twice in the fourth.
Joshua said the loss would not stop him from rebuilding despite admitting "we came up short".
"You know I'm ready to kick off in the ring, but I'm going to keep my cool, keep very professional, and give respect to my opponent," he said.
