Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker, has scored his 100th club goal in Napoli's 2-0 win over Sassuolo in a Serie A fixture.
Osimhen, who joined Napoli in the summer of 2020, scored a penalty to put his team ahead in the 16th minute. The striker has maintained the high level of performance he displayed last season, when he became the first African to win the top scorer title and the first player in
14 years (since Zlatan Ibrahimovic) to win the Scudetto and the Capocannoniere in the same season.

Osimhen's Career Stats so far
Napoli's prolific striker Victor Osimhen,
Africa's Most Valuable Player, has scored 62 goals in 103 games. The explosive forward has scored three goals in Napoli's opening two games this season.
As
Rocketparrot reports, he began his professional career with Wolfsburg in Germany before relocating to Charleroi in Belgium in 2017. In his first season with the club, he scored 20 goals. Lille saw his talents and paid £12 million to get him in 2019. Osimhen made an immediate impact at Ligue 1, where he was rewarded with the Young Player of the Year award after scoring 18 goals in his first season.
Victor Osimhen's Impact on Napoli
The influence of Osimhen on Napoli has been substantial. He played a crucial role in the club's success, especially in winning the league last season and continuing their unbeaten start to the 2023/2024 season.
Any defense would have a hard time stopping Osimhen because of his speed, height, and telescopic reach. It does not matter if the ball is perfectly placed or brutally hoofed in his direction; he can get to it faster than any other center forward in Serie A.
Several teams are still interested in signing Victor Osimhen despite the fact that Napoli's star striker has yet to sign a contract extension with the reigning Serie A champions. The club's top scorer reportedly wants a new contract with better pay and benefits.
