A Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday remanded social media influencer and critic Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman, in police custody.
The Nigeria Police Force charged the social media critic with five counts of cyberstalking.
His lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, applied for bail, but the prosecution team urged Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon of the Federal High Court for extra time to react, forcing the court to postpone the bail hearing until May 29.
The police prosecution sought to have the popular social media critic detained in prison custody, but his attorneys filed an application to keep him in police custody.
The judge approved their motion, and he was then brought to the National Cybercrime Centre.
Remember that the controversial critic was remanded in March 2024 for the same cyberbullying charge.
The 27-year-old, who is known for digging into contentious topics, has been in the spotlight since January of this year.
