Nigeria's rapidly expanding airline, ValueJet, signed a partnership agreement with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Saturday, becoming the Official Airline for the NFF and its national teams, and committing to support them in their pursuit of continental and global success.
The signing ceremony was held at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, where ValueJet’s Chief Executive Officer, Capt. Omololu Majekodunmi, expressed the airline's excitement about their official partnership with Nigerian football.
He emphasized their dedication to ensuring the National Teams travel comfortably and arrive on time for crucial international matches and tournaments.
“We are thrilled about this significant development. Nigerian football has a rich history and a dedicated following. By partnering with the NFF, we aim to inject new energy into the sport and offer seamless travel solutions for our National Teams competing both domestically and internationally. This collaboration reflects our commitment to furthering sports development in Nigeria, involving various initiatives that support the growth of football from grassroots to elite competitions,” Majekodunmi stated.
He noted that ValueJet seeks to generate new prospects for football managers, fans, and stakeholders by providing innovative travel packages, engaging campaigns for fans, and community-driven projects that embody the spirit of the sport. “Our expanding network and emphasis on customer satisfaction will ensure that the National Teams travel smoothly and comfortably, meeting the high standards for which both our organizations are recognized.”
Chairman of the NFF Marketing and Sponsorship Committee, Sharif Rabiu Inuwa, who represented NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau, expressed the football federation's satisfaction with the formal agreement with ValueJet, particularly since the Super Eagles have already benefited from the airline’s services for over a year.
“I am pleased that we have officially finalized this partnership. Even before this, ValueJet has been providing excellent services to the Super Eagles for approximately 16 months, assisting with their travels to away matches. Players and officials have praised their operations, and the NFF is delighted that this partnership has now been formalized.”
Both organizations agree that Nigerian football deserves to be elevated both domestically and internationally, and ValueJet is eager to assist the NFF in achieving this vision.
NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, praised ValueJet for the professionalism and dedication of its team during the distressing situation in Libya in October 2024, when the Super Eagles were held captive by Libyan authorities during a 2025 AFCON qualifying match.
Present at the ceremony were NFF Executive Committee Member Timothy Magaji; ValueJet’s Chief Commercial Officer, Trevor Henry; Consultant, Alh. Sadiq Ahmed; NFF’s Director of Media & Communications, Dr. Ademola Olajire; NFF’s Technical Director, Coach Augustine Eguavoen; Director of Finance & Admin, Paulinus Anameje; NFF’s Internal Auditor, Mr. Matthew Iyere; Director of Marketing, Alizor Chuks; Head of International Competitions, Dayo Enebi Achor and; ValueJet’s Marketing Lead, Uchechi Achomadu.
