Mmesoma Ejikeme, the student from Anambra who faced accusations of manually inflating her 2023 UTME result, has confirmed receiving an automated text message from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
In an interview with Sunrise Daily on Channels Television, monitored by RocketParrot, Mmesoma disclosed the content of the message, which stated that her score was 249.
Earlier, JAMB's spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, had revealed that the candidate had sent multiple messages to the board's automated telecoms system, claiming a total score of 362.
However, Mmesoma clarified that she had only sent one SMS to JAMB via its support system. When asked if she received any feedback, she stated that she did not receive a reply, but she insisted that her message could be found in JAMB's support system.
Regarding the allegation that she used an Airtel line, Mmesoma admitted to using one but clarified that it was not through a USSD code. She explained that she had checked her score through the USSD code and had seen a result of 360.
Confirming the claim that JAMB's feedback showed her score as 249, Mmesoma agreed, stating that after reviewing everything, she discovered her score was indeed 249. She mentioned sending a text message to JAMB's support system to seek clarification on what had transpired. Mmesoma expressed confidence that if JAMB checked its system, they would find her message.
The embattled 19-year-old Anambra student has been making headlines due to the allegations of UTME score forgery.
