Humanitarian organization, UNICEF revealed that it denounced Naomi Campbell's charity to the Charity Commission following a fashion event in 2019.
It comes after the supermodel was barred from serving as a charity trustee for five years last week, following an investigation that found just a small part of the money raised by Fashion For Relief went to beneficial causes.
After the organization Commission released its findings, Campbell stated that she was "extremely concerned," that she was "not in control" of the organization, and that a probe into her actions was underway. Fashion For Relief was disbanded and withdrawn from the charity register earlier this year.
UNICEF has confirmed that it submitted a report to the Charity Commission over a star-studded event conducted during London Fashion Week in 2019.
According to the Guardian, Fashion For Relief stated in a booklet for the event that monies generated will "support UNICEF's efforts to provide the essential interventions to protect, save lives, and ensure the rights of all children, everywhere" on a page with the UNICEF emblem.
UNICEF has stated that it has no partnership with Fashion For Relief and received no funds from the exhibition.
A spokesman for UNICEF stated in a statement: "We take fundraising compliance very seriously, and UNICEF UK reported Fashion For Relief 2019 to the Charity Commission in accordance with our statutory requirements."
