Ukraine Sacks Defense Minister Aleksey Reznikov

Ukrainian lawmakers have cast an overwhelming vote to remove Aleksey Reznikov from his role as the defense minister. Reznikov tendered his resignation on Monday, a day following President Vladimir Zelensky's announcement of his intention to replace the incumbent defense official. The voting results, which were promptly shared on social media by a member of parliament, reflect a resounding consensus with 327 votes in favor of Reznikov's dismissal, while a mere four votes were cast in opposition. This development unfolds amidst escalating tensions and hostilities between Ukraine and Russia. Just a day prior to this parliamentary decision, Russian President Vladimir Putin characterized Ukraine's offensive against his country as a failure. The two neighboring nations remain locked in a bitter conflict, with the situation continually evolving. On Tuesday, Russia's defense ministry announced that it downed three drones from Ukraine targeting one of its cities. The ministry,however, failed to state if any damage was done before the drones could be brought down.
