British rapper and YouTuber Yung Filly has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman at an Australian hotel.
Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, 29, was apprehended in Brisbane on Tuesday and extradited to Perth on Wednesday.
He appeared at Perth Magistrates' Court on Thursday (10 October), charged with three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and four counts of sexual intercourse without consent.
The YouTube personality is accused of sexually assaulting a lady in her 20s in his hotel on September 28, following a performance at Bar1 Nightclub in Hillarys, Perth.
Mr. Barrientos is now on tour in Australia. The alleged attack on a lady in her twenties occurred on September 28 in a Perth hotel room, after a performance at the nightclub Bar120 on September 27.
According to ABC Australia, Barrientos is represented by Perth Barrister Seamus Rafferty SC.
Julius Depetro, the police prosecutor, opposed his motion for bail.
The prosecution showed the magistrate's photos of the woman's injuries, which they claimed were caused by Barrientos, saying: "No ordinary person can consent in these circumstances.
“Across her body is a history of violent acts… We say these photos and what is alleged is beyond the pale, beyond what could be considered to be a consensual act.”
Barrientos was born in Cali, Colombia, and migrated to the UK with his family as a child, first to Orpington, Kent, and subsequently to south-east London, where he became interested in the local grime movement.
He rose to prominence in 2017 after publishing songs online and amassing a sizeable online fan base via his YouTube channel, which has 1.4 million subscribers.
In recent years, he has hosted some BBC shows, including Yung Filly's Celeb Lock-in and Hot Property, and had appeared on Channel 4's The Great Celebrity Bake Off in 2022.
