Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are among six boxers featured in the 2024 Sportico rich list, according to reports from talksport.com.
For this annual list, Sportico tracked the earnings of the world's leading sports figures over the year from February 12, 2024, to February 12, 2025.
Al Nassr’s Cristiano Ronaldo topped the list with an impressive $260 million, while Golden State Warriors' point guard Steph Curry earned $153.8 million in 2024.
Close behind in third place was Tyson Fury, the former unified heavyweight champion, who made a staggering $147 million from his two bouts with Oleksandr Usyk along with endorsements.
Lionel Messi, LeBron James, and Neymar occupied the fourth to sixth spots, just ahead of Usyk at seventh. Fury received the largest portion of the purse, yet the Ukrainian still earned $122 million from the payout and endorsements.
He is anticipated to rise in the rankings for 2025 after signing a lucrative four-fight contract with Riyadh Season, which includes a matchup against Terence Crawford in September.
Joshua ranked as the fourth-highest-earning boxer in 2024 and 30th among all sports personalities with an income of $60 million.
The Watford powerhouse began his year strongly, defeating former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou by knockout in March, before suffering a harsh stoppage defeat by Daniel Dubois in September.
Twenty-two spots lower than Joshua, Jake Paul emerged as the fifth-highest-earning boxer in 2024 following his record-setting Netflix fight with Mike Tyson in November.
The event, hosted at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, raked in over $17.8 million at the gate, making it boxing's highest-grossing event in the U.S. outside of Las Vegas.
Approximately 108 million viewers tuned in to watch the highly-publicized contest, with Paul earning $38 million from the fight and an additional $10 million from endorsements, totaling $48 million.
The sixth boxer to appear on the Sportico Top 100 list was Japanese standout Naoya Inoue at No. 81. Similar to Canelo, he is expected to have an even more lucrative 2025 after signing a multi-fight agreement with Riyadh Season.
The year 2024 proved to be highly rewarding for the undisputed super bantamweight champion, who secured victories against Luis Nery and TJ Doheny last year, and went on to defeat Kim Ye-joon at the beginning of 2025. He ended up earning $42 million, marking his most profitable year to date.
