Two Members of Ajayi Crowther University Vigilance Group Arrested for Alleged Rape of Female Student
Ajayi Crowther University, located in Oyo State, made a shocking announcement on Saturday regarding the arrest of two members of its vigilance group for allegedly raping a female student of the institution.
According to the university's Public Relations Officer, Olufemi Atoyebi, the management swiftly responded to the incident, setting up an internal panel of inquiry to investigate the matter, which occurred on May 9, 2024.
Atoyebi confirmed that the suspects were handed over to the police, emphasizing the university's commitment to ensuring that anyone found guilty faces severe penalties after a thorough investigation.
In a statement issued by the university, Atoyebi stated, "Management of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, received with shock a report of alleged rape of one of our female students on Thursday, May 9, 2024, by two members of our vigilance group.
The management promptly handed over to the police, the two people alleged to have committed the crime while the university set up its internal panel of inquiry to investigate the allegation."
