The United States President-elect, Donald Trump has characterised the resignation of FBI Director Christopher Wray as a crucial turning point for America.
Trump who spoke in a post on X said the resignation marks an end to the “Weaponization” of the Justice Department.
The President-elect expressed his hope for the restoration of the rule of law and fairness within the nation’s justice system.
He further criticized Wray’s leadership, alleging that the FBI, under his tenure, engaged in politically motivated actions, including the controversial raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, efforts to impeach and indict him, and interference in national affairs.
rump endorsed Kash Patel, describing him as the “most qualified nominee in the FBI’s history” and a key figure to restore integrity and justice within the Bureau.
He also reaffirmed his respect for FBI rank-and-file employees, claiming they, along with the American people, are eager for reform within the agency.
Trump expressed optimism about Patel’s confirmation and pledged to “Make the FBI Great Again.”
