Former US President Donald Trump has hinted that music singer Taylor Swift will back his 2024 presidential candidacy.
Trump took to Truth Social to upload many photos of women wearing "Swifties for Trump" T-shirts.
However, a closer glance at the photographs indicates that many have been doctored.
Among the images Trump uploaded an AI-generated photo of Taylor Swift dressed as Uncle Sam, saying, "Taylor wants YOU to vote for Donald Trump."
The former president eagerly responded to the post, saying, "I accept!"
Swift has not yet backed a candidate for the forthcoming election, but other celebrities, including John Legend, Megan The Stallion, and Barbra Streisand, have already shown support for Vice President Kamala Harris.
It's unclear whether Swift will participate in the 2024 election, but Trump's attempts to co-opt her image indicate that he wants her support.
This attempt to link Swift to his candidacy is false, given the singer has not openly supported any candidate for the 2024 race.
Swift has previously shown her political views by promoting Joe Biden in the 2020 race and publicly denouncing Trump.
Following a disturbing remark by Trump in 2020, Swift turned to X (previously Twitter) to express her displeasure stating: "After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence? ‘When the looting starts the shooting starts’??? We will vote you out in November."
