Former US President Donald Trump has entered a not-guilty plea to 37 counts including the improper management of secret materials.
During the former president's arraignment on Tuesday in a federal courthouse in Miami, Trump's attorneys requested a jury trial.
Todd Blanche, an attorney for Trump, pleaded with the judge, "We must certainly enter a plea of not guilty."
The hearing is over as of the time this report is being submitted.
Deputy marshals booked the former president and took digital copies of his fingerprints prior to the arraignment. Trump's mugshot wasn't taken because of his high level of recognizability. It took roughly 10 minutes to complete the booking.
Walt Nauta, a Trump associate, and co-defendant, was also taken into custody, fingerprinted, and processed.
Trump made court appearances for federal charges for the first time among past presidents.
The 45th US president said that he would stand for office in the 2024 election.
He called the trial a "witch hunt" by the Joe Biden-led government.
