Manchester United have pulled off a stunning transfer coup by agreeing to sign Sergio Reguilón on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. The Red Devils have agreed to sign the 26-year-old defender, who is presently undergoing a medical, until June 2024, with an early termination option in January.
Reports indicate that Reguilon has passed his medicals and will join United on a loan with no buyout provision.
Either club may terminate the loan agreement at any time after January if they so choose. Reguilon's whole salary will be paid for by United.

Reguilon's Career
After making his debut for Real Madrid in 2018, Reguilon went on to play for Sevilla and then Tottenham Hotspur.
As a left back, he has earned a reputation for both his offensive and defensive abilities.
Reguilon signed a five-year deal with Tottenham in September 2020 after spending the previous season on loan with Atletico Madrid from Real Madrid.

Manchester United's Need for a Left-Back
Since Luke Shaw's muscle injury is expected to keep him out until November and his backup, Tyrell Malacia, is also sidelined for the foreseeable future with a knee injury, Manchester United has been looking to add a left-back to their lineup.

United had previously discussed loaning Chelsea's Marc Cucurella, but the fees associated with finalizing that deal and the uncertainty surrounding the Spanish left back's availability for Wednesday night's Carabao Cup match for the west London club's reserve team
prompted them to shift their focus to Reguilon instead.
A lot of Red Devils' fans are crossing their fingers that Reguilón will be able to regain his form at Old Trafford and lead Manchester United back to the title hunt.
