ABUJA, Nigeria - President Bola Tinubu has sent a letter to the Senate seeking confirmation of Melvin Ayogu’s appointment to the Board of Directors at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The request was detailed in a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, which was presented during Tuesday’s session.
The letter mentions: “In accordance with Section 10(1) of the CBN (Establishment) Act, 2007, I submit for Senate confirmation the appointment of Prof. Melvin Ayogu as a board member.”
It further states: “His Curriculum Vitae is attached. The Senate is invited to recognize that this nominee completes the Board's composition as stipulated in Section 6 of the CBN Act, 2007.”
Additionally, Tinubu requested Senate confirmation for Nwakuche Ndidi's appointment as the controller-general of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
“In accordance with section 3(1)(b) of the Nigerian Correctional Service Act, 2019, I submit for Senate confirmation the appointment of Nwakuche Ndidi as controller-general of the NCoS,” the president stated.
